Photomontage
A photomontage is a normal photograph, merged with a CGI. The proposed building or development can be dropped in using CGI. The photograph can be either supplied by the client (in which case positional info should also be supplied) or an in-house architectural photographer can capture the shots you need.
Using the recorded position of the camera, along with some of the metadata stored within the digital photograph itself, the camera's position, angle, focal length and field of view can all be determined and replicated inside a 3D model with your building or development.
This data is then used to produce a cutout image
of your building. This is then passed to a
digital artist who will merge this image with
your photograph, adjusting colour, white balance,
gamma curves and tones to match the original
photograph. The result is a convincing
photomontage showing your building as if it were
already there!
